The Birmingham Post and Mail featured an article on our church in their weekend
supplement.
Here are a couple of quotes from their reporter Terry Grimley "few people will have seen its magnificently restored
interior, which is surely one of the most breathtaking 'new' architectural
spaces to have graced Birmingham in the last few years."
and
"The cleaning
of the stone walls and pillars has created a light and airy ambience reminiscent
of Dutch 17th century paintings of church interiors"
Sunday 13th October 2002 - The
Re-dedication and Thanksgiving service was held
Monday 14th October
Dear Richard
I am writing to congratulate you
and everyone involved with last night's celebration of the refurbishment of St
John's. The Church looked absolutely splendid and the service was tremendous.
I'm really glad you are the Vicar of Ladywood - we are all so proud of what you
and your congregation have achieved. Please pass on the thanks and best wishes
of the Ladywood councillors to everyone involved.
Regards
Councillor Carl Rice
